Scope

This standard specifies the safety requirements for lifting metallurgical motors (including eddy current brakes), motors for elevators, tower cranes and other construction machinery, motors for flatcars, conical rotor motors, and shielded motors. This standard applies to various lifting machinery and other similar equipment, metallurgical auxiliary equipment, elevators, tower cranes and other construction machinery, flatcars, and other electric drive motors used in power transmission, as well as shielded motors used in the petroleum and chemical industries for transporting substances that do not contain solid particles (in the following provisions, all the above-mentioned motors, including eddy current brakes, are collectively referred to as motors, except for some special provisions).
