Scope

This guidance technical document provides suggestions on the design parameters and their limitations to be considered when developing a pre-design flow calculation method (software) for gas fire extinguishing systems, and presents methods and evaluation criteria for testing and validating the flow calculation method (software). This guidance technical document is applicable to gas fire extinguishing systems for which there are no design specifications available for reference, and is used to validate the flow calculation method or software during the pre-design phase.
