GB/T 19277.1-2025 Determination of the ultimate aerobic biodegradability of plastic materials under conctrolled composting conditions—Method by analysis of evolved cabon dioxide—Part 1:General method
Basic Information
Scope
This document specifies a method for determining the ultimate aerobic biodegradability and disintegration degree of materials as organic compounds under controlled composting conditions by measuring the amount of carbon dioxide emitted. This method simulates the typical aerobic composting conditions for organic components mixed into urban solid waste. The test materials are exposed to inoculum produced by composting under environmental conditions where temperature, oxygen concentration, and humidity are strictly monitored and controlled. This method determines the percentage of carbon converted into released carbon dioxide in the test materials. Sections 8.6 and 8.7 specify a method for determining the percentage of carbon converted into released carbon dioxide in the test materials using mineral solid beds instead of composted inoculum (obtained from compost through special processing methods). The conditions described in this document do not always correspond to the optimal conditions for achieving maximum biodegradation.
