GB/T 42918.1-2023 Plastics—Thermoplastic polyurethanes for moulding and extrusion—Part 1:Designation system and basis for specifications
Basic Information
Scope
This document establishes a naming system for thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers used in molding and extrusion, and provides a naming code table for thermoplastic polyurethane elastomers. This document applies to the naming of all thermoplastic polyurethane elastomer materials that are normally used in powder, granular, or spherical forms, and serves as the basis for determining product specifications. These materials are either unmodified or modified with colorants, fillers, or additives. Different types of thermoplastic polyurethanes are distinguished by different grades of the following properties: a) hardness; b) tensile modulus (optional). Information about the alternation of hard and soft segments in the main chain, intended applications and/or processing methods, important characteristics, additives, colors, fillers, and reinforcing materials is also relevant to the naming and classification of thermoplastic polyurethanes. This document does not imply that materials with the same name must have the same performance. This document does not provide the engineering data, performance data, and processing condition data required for specified materials for special applications and/or processing methods. When necessary, these additional properties should be determined according to the appropriate methods in ISO 163652. To illustrate the special applications or recyclable processing of a certain thermoplastic elastomer, additional requirements are given in character group 5 (see 4.1 and 4.6).
