Scope

This standard specifies the classification and designations, dimensions, shapes, weights, and allowable deviations, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging marks, and quality certificates of austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel bars.
This standard applies to rolled or forged austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel bars with dimensions (diameter, edge length, thickness, or distance between opposite edges) not exceeding 250 mm. Upon agreement between the supplier and the buyer, austenitic-ferritic duplex stainless steel bars with dimensions (diameter, edge length, thickness, or distance between opposite edges) greater than 250 mm (hereinafter referred to as "steel bars") may also be supplied.
