Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the fluid permeability of permeable sintered metal materials (whose pores are either continuous or interconnected). The test is conducted under the condition that the fluid permeability can be expressed by viscosity and inertial permeability coefficients (see Appendix A).
This standard is not applicable to elongated tubular specimens, because the pressure drop through the inner hole of the tubular specimen is not negligible compared to the pressure drop through the wall thickness of the tubular specimen (see Appendix A.5).
