Scope

This standard specifies the method for determining the fire reaction performance of building materials or products (excluding flooring materials and the products specified in EC Decision 2000/147/EC) in a single-burning item (SBI) test. The calculation steps are described in Appendix A. The accuracy of the test method is described in Appendix B. The calibration steps are described in Appendices C and D. Note: This standard was developed to determine the fire reaction performance of flat building products. For certain products, such as linear products (sleeves, pipes, cables, etc.), special provisions are required. For tubular insulation materials, the method specified in Appendix H is used.
