GB/T 19214.1-2023 Electrical accessories—Residual current monitors(RCMs)—Part 1:RCMs for household and similar uses
Basic Information
Scope
This document is applicable to residual current monitors for household and similar purposes with a rated voltage not exceeding 440 V AC and a rated current not exceeding 125 A.
This document specifies the classification, characteristics, technical requirements, and tests for RCMs.
Note 1: A standard for residual current monitors (IEC 62020-2) with a rated operating voltage and a rated voltage of the monitored circuit exceeding 440 V AC is under consideration.
RCMs are used to monitor residual current in devices and send an alarm signal when the residual current between live components and exposed conductive parts or the ground exceeds a predetermined value.
RCMs detect sudden or slowly increasing residual current in AC circuits (e.g., AC residual current, pulsating DC residual current, and smoothed DC residual current).
