Scope

This standard specifies the determination of the content of phthalic esters in coatings by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the content of various phthalic esters in coatings and raw materials for coatings. This includes, but is not limited to, the phthalic esters listed, such as dibutyl phthalate (DBP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), dicyclohexyl phthalate (DNOP), diisooctyl phthalate (DINP), and diisodecyl phthalate (DIDP). Other types of phthalic esters can also be tested using this method as a reference.
