Scope
This standard specifies an infrared spectroscopy method and verification method for identifying whether artificial leather and synthetic leather (hereinafter collectively referred to as artificial leather) materials are made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) or polyurethane (PU), and provides guidelines for analysis steps and spectrum interpretation.
This standard applies to artificial leather with fabric as the substrate and PVC and PU as the main coating materials, and does not include laminated leather with animal leather or recycled leather as the substrate. The coating material identification of composite materials containing animal leather and recycled leather can be used for reference.
