Scope
This standard specifies the requirements and test methods, inspection rules, and marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for diesel engine oil made from refined mineral oil, synthetic oil, or a blend of refined mineral oil and synthetic oil, with the addition of various additives or compound additives. The products covered by this standard are suitable for lubricating four-stroke diesel engines powered by diesel fuel, such as diesel engines used in trucks, buses, and freight vehicles, as well as diesel engines used in agriculture, industry, and construction.
