Scope

This standard specifies the energy efficiency grades, energy efficiency limits, test methods, and inspection rules for DC fans.
This standard applies to desk fans, swing fans, wall fans, table fans, and floor fans driven solely by DC motors with a rated voltage of no more than 250 V for single-phase models and 480 V for three-phase models.
This standard does not apply to:
— DC fans powered solely by third-party sources (such as batteries).
— DC fans that are not intended for household use, such as devices specifically designed for industrial purposes.
— Devices intended for use in special conditions, such as those where corrosive or explosive gases (dust, vapor, or gas) are present.
— Fans combined with other devices.
