Scope
This standard specifies the Lingeman telescope method for determining the smoke blackness in the exhaust gas of fixed pollution sources. This standard is applicable to the determination of the blackness of gray or black smoke emitted by fixed pollution sources at the emission outlets, but it is not applicable to the determination of the blackness of smoke of other colors.
