Scope
This procedure is applicable to the verification of newly manufactured, in-use, and repaired low-background α, β, and α/β activity or surface particle count meters.
The energy of α particles is greater than 39 MeV, and the maximum energy of β particles is not less than 0.15 MeV.
This procedure is not applicable to the verification of instruments used for measuring α or β energy spectra and detecting surface contamination.
