Scope

This standard specifies the areas within the People's Republic of China that require long-term monitoring of desertification conditions and the time of the annual monitoring work. At the same time, it stipulates the technical methods to be used for monitoring the development degree, formation causes, and development trends of land desertification, as well as the technical methods to be used for determining the boundaries of desertification patches. This standard applies to areas and departments that need to carry out desertification monitoring work. This standard does not apply to desert areas. This standard does not include database establishment and mapping methods.
