Scope
This standard specifies the method for determining the linear expansion coefficient of rigid foam plastics below the ambient temperature. This standard is applicable to the determination of the "average" linear expansion coefficient of rigid foam plastics between a selected low temperature and the ambient temperature. The linear expansion coefficient values measured using this standard are only valid for the specific samples tested within the testing period. Rigid foam plastics are anisotropic, and the results obtained from tests in different directions are not comparable.
