Scope

This document specifies the performance requirements for lighting systems powered by bicycle generators, and describes the corresponding test methods, applicable to lighting and light-signaling devices that comply with ISO 6742-1. The lighting system includes lighting and light-signaling devices and a power supply provided by the rotation of the bicycle, such as a generator.
This document is applicable to lighting systems for bicycles used on public roads, particularly for two-wheeled bicycles that comply with ISO 4210 and ISO 8098 standards.
