Scope

This standard specifies the principles, test equipment, samples, test conditions, test procedures, and test reports for the impact erosion test of fiber-reinforced plastics and their protective coatings.
This standard is applicable to the determination of the impact erosion resistance of fiber-reinforced plastics and their protective coatings using the rotating device method. Among them, the failure time method and the erosion time curve method are applicable to fiber-reinforced plastics and protective coatings, while the degradation state method is only applicable to protective coatings.
This standard is not applicable to continuous liquid jet erosion and scour erosion by liquids or slurries.
