Scope

This standard stipulates the general provisions for the selection and planning of marine dumping areas, the classification and evaluation procedures for dredged materials, social surveys, on-site marine surveys, marine dumping trials of waste materials, mathematical simulation calculations, and feasibility assessments.
This standard applies to the selection and planning of marine dumping areas for dredged materials, inert inorganic geological materials, and other waste materials in the internal sea, territorial sea, contiguous zone, exclusive economic zone, and continental shelf of the People's Republic of China, as well as other sea areas under the jurisdiction of the People's Republic of China; it can also be used as a reference for the selection and planning of marine dumping areas for natural organic materials, sewer sludge, and other waste materials.
This standard does not apply to the selection and planning of marine disposal and abandonment areas for ships, platforms, offshore artificial structures, fish waste, or other materials generated from industrial fish processing.
