Scope
This standard specifies the method for testing the continuity of thin anodic oxide films on aluminum and aluminum alloys using a copper sulfate solution. This standard is applicable to the rapid testing of the continuity of thin anodic oxide films (thickness less than 5 μm) on aluminum and aluminum alloys. When there are doubts about visible defects on the surface of the anodic oxide film, this method can be used to determine whether the defect is a localized exposure of the base metal.
