Scope
This standard specifies the determination of the purity and hydrocarbon impurity content of ethylbenzene used in industry by gas chromatography. This standard is applicable to the determination of ethylbenzene with a purity of not less than 99.0% (by mass fraction). The detection range of impurities such as non-aromatic hydrocarbons, benzene, toluene, p-xylene, m-xylene, o-xylene, and isopropylbenzene is 0.001% to 1.000% (by mass fraction), and the detection range of diethylbenzene impurities is greater than 0.0003% (by mass fraction).
