Scope: This standard specifies the terms and definitions, production area, technical requirements, inspection methods, inspection rules, marking, packaging, transportation, and storage for the geographical indication product Huining Astragalus (Huining Huangqi) approved by the People's Government of Huining County in accordance with laws and regulations such as the Trademark Law of the People's Republic of China and registered by the Trademark Office of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce (registration number: 23307867) (Huining Government Document No. 27 of 2016); Main technical content: - Site conditions: The altitude range for growing Huining Astragalus is 1450–2400 m, with an average temperature of 3.5–9.6 °C, annual rainfall between 100–300 mm, a frost-free period of 155 days, and a sunshine duration of 2,700–3,360 hours. The region has abundant water resources. Soils such as yellow loess, irrigation desert soils, black soil, and black loess are favorable for cultivation. The soil particles are dispersed, porous, and well-drained, with an organic matter content of ≥10 g/kg, total nitrogen ≥0.6 g/kg, total phosphorus ≥1.2–1.6 g/kg, total potassium ≥15–22 g/kg, effective phosphorus ≥5–20 mg/kg, and effective potassium ≥100–200 mg/kg. The soil environmental quality should meet the Grade II requirements of GB 15618; environmental and air quality should meet the Grade I requirements of GB 3095 and GB 9137; and irrigation water should comply with GB 5084. - Seed requirements: Select full-grained, bright-colored, disease-free, and pollution-free seeds. The dry seed weight should be 5.6–6.0 g/1,000 seeds, with a seed purity ≥95%, seed purity ≥95%, germination rate ≥80%, and moisture content ≤10%.
