Scope

This standard specifies the general methods for determining nitrate using the colorimetric method of sodium indigo sulfonate (Indigo Carmine) and the colorimetric method of brucine.
This standard is applicable to the determination of trace nitrate in chemical reagents. The detection range of the spectrophotometric method or visual colorimetric method of sodium indigo sulfonate (Indigo Carmine) is 0.2 μg/mL to 4 μg/mL (calculated as NO3); the detection range of the colorimetric method of brucine is 0.3 μg/mL to 6.5 μg/mL (calculated as NO3).
