Scope

This standard specifies the relevant terminology and technical requirements for quality control assessment of zinc-penetration corrosion protection of steel structural components (hereinafter referred to as zinc-penetration operation). This standard applies to the surface zinc-penetration operation of parts, fasteners, and structural components made of carbon steel, low-alloy steel, cast iron, and other materials. This standard does not apply to the zinc-penetration operation of steel structural components with precise requirements on appearance and dimensions, those with soft-soldered or organic material joints, and those requiring tempering treatment at temperatures below 360°C to meet mechanical property requirements.
