GB/T 43461-2023 Chain of custody—General terminology and models

Scope

This document defines the framework of the chain of custody by providing the following:
— A consistent and universal method for designing, implementing, and managing the chain of custody;
— Unified terminology;
— General requirements for different chain of custody models;
— General guidance on using the defined chain of custody models, including preliminary guidance on when each chain of custody model is applicable in different situations.
This document applies to all materials and products. It does not apply to services as the final output.
This document is applicable to all organizations involved in the supply chain, and it is referenced by developers of specific chain of custody standards.
This document enhances the transparency of specific claims about materials or products, thereby supporting the reliability of these claims, but it is not suitable for independently making or verifying such claims.
This document itself cannot support the claims of organizations about their materials or products. To prevent misleading consumers and other end customers, the existence of a chain of custody system does not in itself stipulate the characteristics or conditions of the materials or products produced. This document contains requirements and guidance on this issue.
