Scope
This standard specifies a method of marking the sample axis relative to the product's microstructure using an X-Y-Z orthogonal coordinate system, which can be applied to metal samples without notches and with notches (or pre-cracks). This method is only applicable to metal materials with clearly identifiable and consistent microstructure patterns. Before sample processing, the sample orientation should be determined, and it should be marked and recorded in accordance with the provisions of this standard.
