Scope

This part of GB5959 specifies the special requirements for the safety of personal devices related to electric slag remelting furnaces (hereinafter referred to as electric slag furnaces). This part applies to electric heating devices that remelt or refine metals by directly heating conductive slag. This part should be used in conjunction with GB5959.1—2005 "Safety of Electric Heating Devices - Part 1: General Requirements". The test methods in this part comply with the relevant provisions of GB/T 10066.1—2004 "Test Methods for Electric Heating Devices - Part 1: General Requirements" and GB/T 10066.8—2006 "Test Methods for Electric Heating Devices - Part 8: Electric Slag Remelting Furnaces".
