Scope

This standard specifies the terms and definitions, general principles, thermogravimetric analysis test methods, thermal weight loss test methods, infrared spectroscopy analysis test methods, and test reports for the detection of alkane plasticizers (hereinafter referred to as alkane plasticizers) in silicone structural sealants. This standard is applicable to the quantitative or qualitative detection of alkane plasticizers (white oil, liquid paraffin) in silicone structural sealants by thermogravimetric analysis, thermal weight loss, and infrared spectroscopy analysis methods. Other silicone sealants can also be implemented in accordance with this standard.
