Scope

Scope: This document specifies the technical requirements for the establishment of large-scale mango orchards, including site planning, variety selection, large-scale mango seedling specifications, planting, pruning and shaping, water and fertilizer management, and pest and disease control. This document applies to the management of large-scale mango seedlings. Main technical contents: 1. Terms and definitions: There are no terms or definitions that need to be defined in this document. 2. Site planning: The site planning meets the requirements of NY/T 880. 3. Variety selection: For the Red River Basin, refer to T/YNRZ 006 for variety selection; for the Nujiang River Basin, refer to T/YNRZ 010; for the Lancang River Basin, refer to T/YNRZ 009; and for the Jinsha River Basin, refer to T/YNRZ 008. 4. Large-scale mango seedling specifications: Select healthy, disease-free, and grafted seedlings with a grade of 3 or higher. See Appendix A for the seedling grade. 5. Planting: 5.1 Planting time: Planting can be carried out throughout the year, and the best time for irrigated orchards is February to April. 5.2 Planting pit specifications: The length, width, and height of the planting pit should be greater than or equal to 50 ×60 ×60 cm. 5.3 Planting method: Apply 20 kg to 30 kg of organic fertilizer per plant before transplantation. Before planting, remove all roots outside the container and clean the seedling container after transplantation. Ensure that the nutrient soil column is intact and not loose. Place the main stem of the seedling at the center of the planting pit. Layer by layer, compact the soil to a height of 5 – 8 cm above the soil column. Establish a circular rooting zone with a radius of 15 – 20 cm at a distance of 50 cm from the main stem, and water the seedling thoroughly to promote rooting. 6. Shaping and pruning: 6.1 After successful transplantation in the first year, cut off the top of the upper branch at a height of 25 – 35 cm from the top of the prev
