Scope

This rule applies to the installation, modification, major maintenance supervision and inspection, and regular inspection of power-driven traction or forced-type freight elevators and hydraulic freight elevators (except for explosion-proof freight elevators). The production (including the design, manufacture, installation, modification, repair, and daily maintenance and upkeep of freight elevators, hereinafter referred to as freight elevators) and use units of the power-driven traction or forced-type freight elevators and hydraulic freight elevators mentioned in the preceding paragraph, as well as special equipment inspection and testing institutions engaged in the supervision and inspection and regular inspection of freight elevators, shall comply with the provisions of this rule.
