Scope

This standard applies to the measurement of reverberation time in rooms used for language, performance, or music, rooms requiring sound absorption and noise reduction, and rooms in residential buildings with special sound quality requirements. This standard does not apply to the measurement of reverberation time in special rooms such as acoustic laboratories. This standard does not apply to the measurement of reverberation time in special indoor spaces where the ratio of the maximum size to the minimum size in the three-dimensional dimensions of the room is greater than 5, or in rooms where any dimension is less than half the wavelength of the measurement frequency.
