Scope

This document describes the method of determining the purity of methanol products and their impurity content, including alcohols, ketones, esters, etc., by gas chromatography.
This document is suitable for determining the methanol products with a mass fraction of not less than 99.0%. Under the conditions specified in Chromatographic Condition 1, the detection limit for the impurity dimethyl carbonate is 4 mg/kg, and for other organic impurities, the detection limit is 2 mg/kg; under the conditions specified in Chromatographic Condition 2, the detection limit for the impurity methylene glycol ether is 12 mg/kg, and for the impurities methyl formate and dimethyl carbonate, the detection limit is 8 mg/kg, and for other organic impurities, the detection limit is 5 mg/kg.
