Scope

This document describes the test method for the attenuation constant of coaxial cables used in communication systems. This document is applicable to coaxial communication cables and also to tests with a frequency of ≥ 5 MHz.
If the magnitude of the complex characteristic impedance is approximately equal to the nominal characteristic impedance of the sample, or if the calculation is performed using function fitting, it is also applicable to tests at lower frequencies.
