Scope

This document specifies the general requirements for ultrasonic testing of die steel, comparison test pieces, testing instruments and equipment, testing conditions and methods, determination of defects, quality grading, and testing reports. This document is applicable to manual and automatic ultrasonic testing of die steel with a thickness of not less than 6 mm using the longitudinal wave direct incident reflection method. Ultrasonic testing of round rod-type die steel and other non-die steel forgings, plates, etc. can be carried out in accordance with this document.
