Scope

This document specifies the instrumentation, sampling, test procedures, result calculation, allowable deviations, and test reports for the determination of the softening point of coal tar by the cold pressing globular method. This document is applicable to the determination of the softening point of coal tar samples with a softening point greater than 157°C.
