Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements for AC PLC filter capacitors used in high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission systems, including terms and definitions, conditions of use, quality requirements, and testing.
This standard applies to AC PLC filter capacitor units and AC PLC filter capacitor groups used on the AC side of converter stations in HVDC transmission systems, with a rated operating frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz and a filtering frequency range of 30 kHz to 500 kHz for harmonics.
