Scope

This document is applicable to the quality assessment and inspection of on-board surge protectors connected to AC rated voltage of 380/220 V (rms) and 50 Hz circuits. On-board surge protectors of other AC rated voltages can refer to this document for implementation. This document is not applicable to discrete components such as MOVs, discharge tubes, and integrated packages of MOVs and GDTs installed separately on PCBs, as well as dedicated lightning protection boards assembled from discrete components.
