Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terminology and definitions for mango cultivation in the Nujiang River Basin of Yunnan Province, as well as technical requirements for planting area selection, variety selection, planting techniques, field management, water and fertilizer management, pest and disease control, and harvesting. This document is applicable to the management of mango cultivation in the Nujiang River Basin; Main technical content: 1. Site selection for planting gardens 1.1.1 Climate conditions: Average annual temperature >18.1℃, cumulative temperature ≥10℃ exceeding 6,400℃, with a frost period of less than 15 days. Rainfall should be less than 800mm. 1.1.2 Soil conditions: Soil should be fertile, with deep soil and good drainage, with a pH value between 5.5 and 7.5. The most suitable soils are loam and sandy loam with a pH value between 5.5 and 6.5. 1.1.3 Altitude: The planting area should be below 1,500m above sea level. 1.1.4 Site conditions: Close to water sources, facing the sun with good ventilation, avoiding backlighting and low-lying areas prone to frost. 1.1.5 Water quality for irrigation: The irrigation water quality should meet the requirements of NY/T5010. 1.1.6 Air quality: The environmental air quality should meet the requirements of NY/T5010. Site planning: 1.2.1 Layout of planting areas: The layout of planting areas should be in harmony with the natural environment, and be divided according to the principles of slope orientation, soil quality, and fertility consistency, convenient irrigation and drainage, and resource conservation. The area of flat land planting areas should be 50 mu to 100 mu, and that of hilly land planting areas should be 30 mu to 50 mu. 1.2.2 Terrace cultivation: Terraces should be leveled at the same height, and slopes on hilly land should be converted into terraces with a width of more than 3m and an inward slope of 3° to 5°. 1.2.3 Road system: The road system planning should meet the requirements of NY/T880. 1.2.
