Scope

This standard specifies the specimens, test solutions, test equipment, test conditions and procedures, evaluation of test results, and test reports for the corrosion test of stainless steel in 5% sulfuric acid solution.
This standard is applicable to determining the corrosion weight loss of austenitic stainless steel containing molybdenum in a 5% sulfuric acid solution, in order to test the uniform corrosion resistance of stainless steel. Other types of stainless steel can also be tested according to this standard.
