Scope

This document specifies the routine and type tests for thyristor valves used in thyristor-controlled series capacitor (TCSC) devices for AC transmission. The tests specified in this document are for air-insulated valves operating in either capacitive boost mode or bypass mode. For valves of other insulation types and valves operating in inductive boost mode, the test requirements and acceptance criteria shall be determined through negotiation between the buyer and the seller.
