Scope

This standard specifies the dimensions, shapes, technical requirements, test methods, acceptance rules, packaging marks, and quality certificates of heat-resistant steel bars (a general term for round steel, square steel, flat steel, and hexagonal steel, hereinafter referred to as steel bars). This standard applies to hot-rolled and forged steel bars with dimensions (diameter, side length, thickness, or distance between opposite sides, hereinafter referred to as dimensions) not exceeding 250 mm, or cold-worked steel bars with dimensions not exceeding 120 mm. Upon agreement between the supplier and the buyer, hot-rolled and forged steel bars with dimensions exceeding 250 mm, or cold-worked steel bars with dimensions exceeding 120 mm, may also be supplied.
