Scope

This standard specifies two methods (Method 1 and Method 2) for evaluating the resistance of plastic or vulcanized rubber-coated fabrics to liquids by measuring the selective properties of the materials before and after immersion in the selected test liquid.
The differences between the two methods are as follows:
Method 1: After immersion, the residual liquid on the sample is removed by wiping.
Method 2: The sample is immersed in a volatile liquid, and then the residual liquid is removed by drying in an oven.
