Scope

This document specifies the requirements for determining the maximum propulsion rated power of powerboats with a hull length (LH, as defined in ISO 8666) of between 8 m and 24 m, using the maneuvering speed.
This document applies to boats with a Froude number (Fn) of not less than 1.1.
This document does not apply to:
—— Inflatable boats as defined in ISO 61854; —— Boats designed and built specifically for racing (racing boats); —— Boats not powered by engines.
This document does not specify the structural strength requirements of boats related to the maximum propulsion power, and does not guarantee the stability of the boat under all conditions, such as water depth, wind, current, and waves.
