Scope

This standard specifies the gravimetric method for measuring the total suspended particulate matter in ambient air. This standard is applicable to manual measurement of the concentration of total suspended particulate matter in ambient air using high-flow or medium-flow samplers, and also to manual measurement of the concentration of total suspended particulate matter in the air at unorganized emission monitoring points. When using a high-flow sampler and a one-hundredth of a gram scale, with a sampling volume of 1512 m3, the method's detection limit is 7 μg/m3. When using a medium-flow sampler and a hundred-thousandth of a gram scale, with a sampling volume of 144 m3, the method's detection limit is 7 μg/m3.
