Scope

Scope: This document specifies the terms and definitions of three-dimensional picking tea garden production technology, new tea garden planning, new tea garden construction, tea garden fertilization, pest and disease control, tea tree pruning, frost damage prevention, tea green picking, and file recording. This document is applicable to tea gardens in Fenggang County and surrounding tea-producing areas that adopt three-dimensional picking as their production and management model. Main technical content: 8.2.1 Pruning cycle: Once a year, with a cycle of every five years, repeated continuously. 8.2.2 Pruning time and standards: In the first year, conduct side "barefoot" pruning in mid-to-early May, with the height of the canopy above the ground being 40cm, and completing the pruning by late May; in the second to fourth years, prune according to the same schedule as the first year, increasing the height of the canopy above the ground by 5cm to 10cm; in the fifth year, prune in mid-to-late May with the height of the canopy being 20-35cm above the ground, and completing the pruning by late May. 8.2.3 Post-pruning management: After pruning, remove diseased and pest-infested branches and leaves from the tea garden for centralized disposal; from mid-June to late August, conduct timely weeding, fertilization, and pest and disease control in the tea garden; from late August to early September, prune back excessive growth on tea trees, removing the top buds exceeding 130cm in height and retaining only healthy first- and second-level growth branches.
