Scope

This standard defines the main terms and definitions of solar thermal power stations (STE), aiming to provide a reference for industry users.
Solar thermal power stations are typically composed of three main systems: a heat collection system, a power generation system, and a heat storage system.
Since the components and configurations of solar thermal power stations depend on the solar heat collection technology used (i.e., tower, parabolic trough, parabolic dish, or linear Fresnel collection technology), some terms are not applicable to all types of solar thermal power stations. Notes have been introduced in their definitions to clarify this point.
