Scope

This part of GB/T 18400 specifies the evaluation method for the routine operation time required by machining centers (hereinafter referred to as machine tools) to perform different metal cutting functions under established standard test conditions. This part is applicable to the evaluation of the operation time of the following two functions: - Automatic tool exchange (see Chapter 5); - Automatic pallet exchange (see Chapter 6). The method described in this part of GB/T 18400 is applicable to the comparison of performance between different machine tools with similar specifications and characteristics. The data obtained by a unified and comparative method are also applicable to the establishment of routine exchange times in technical reports, as well as to the inspection of new machine tools and machine tools during their lifespan.
