Scope

This standard specifies the basic requirements for the type, dimensions, appearance, surface roughness, materials and hardness, marking, and packaging of 2° bevel-edged straight-shank drills, bevel-edged straight-shank drills, Morse taper shanks, and TMG21 shanks for indexable drills (hereinafter referred to as shallow-hole drills). This standard applies to shallow-hole drills with a diameter of 16 mm to 82 mm, a drilling depth not exceeding twice the diameter of the drill bit, and coolant injected through the drill body, equipped with indexable carbide inserts for shallow-hole drilling.
