Scope

This document specifies the technical requirements for short-pitch precision roller chains and sleeve chains, as well as sprockets, suitable for mechanical transmissions and similar applications, including dimensions, tolerances, length measurement, pre-tension, minimum tensile strength, and minimum dynamic load strength. Although Chapter 5 applies to sprockets for bicycles and motorcycles, this document does not apply to bicycle and motorcycle chains. The standards for bicycle and motorcycle chains are specified in ISO 9633 and ISO 10190, respectively.
