Scope
This standard specifies the general guidelines for the evaluation of measurement uncertainties in chemical composition analysis, as well as the methods for evaluating measurement uncertainties using gravimetric analysis, titration, spectrophotometry, atomic absorption spectrometry, hydride generation atomic fluorescence spectrometry, inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry, spark discharge atomic emission spectrometry, X-ray fluorescence spectrometry, infrared absorption, and thermal conductivity, and for determining the measurement uncertainties of carbon content using gas volume analysis.
This standard is applicable to the evaluation of measurement uncertainties in the chemical composition analysis of metallurgical materials.
